Often before the ceremony a couple is nervous. During a first look they will likely be focused on what is about to happen. And while this is true sometimes it’s nice to see each other before the ceremony. Not for the pictures (never do anything for the pictures). But simply because sometimes the one person who can calm you down and who can center you is that person you are about to marry. We actually didn’t do a first look at our wedding and I wish we had for this very reason. Melanie and Jason did a first look. And Jason’s expression as he saw his beautiful bride was so incredibly cute and sweet. For them this time alone before the ceremony was treasured time to reflect on the commitment they were about to make and to enjoy the anticipation together.
The ceremony is the heart of a wedding. And the vows, the heart of the ceremony. In Melanie and Jason’s vows they truly embraced all of each other as they promised their hearts, their lives, and their true selves to each other. Jason promised to be his sarcastic self. Melanie promised not to keep a clean house and to become engrossed in work and come home late. With generous hearts both promised to care deeply about each other, their friends and family, and the greater world. I have no doubt they will keep this promise.
Congratulations on your marriage, Melanie and Jason! Together you will undoubtedly make life better and richer for all you touch.
